National Careers Week – 2022 - Online Careers Events
Whitehead Ross are running a series of short, 30min, online Careers Advice zoom sessions throughout the week.
You may have young people who would be interested in joining some of the sessions.
You will see on the schedule we are offering a wide range of career overviews including healthcare, military, teaching, performing, self-employment and more.
The sessions are very informal and include a short presentation and opportunity for questions and answers.

Whether people have lived with a disability since birth or have developed it in later life, there will be things they can do and can’t do in their daily lives. Steve spent his whole working life in Engineering within manufacturing industries, as technician, engineering manager and finally factory manager. When Steve was 49, he had to change career path, through disability and he will tell you his journey to his current role, helping people with disabilities into work. |

After completing an apprenticeship in Switzerland, Carola came to England with very little knowledge of the English language. Hear how she struggled at first to find a job but persevered and once she did, how quickly she became more confident and was promoted to a Team Manager position within a year. Language doesn’t have to be a barrier and stop you from doing what you want to do and having a successful career. |

Interested in joining the Armed forces? -Army, Navy or Air Force. Grant and Tony are both ex-servicemen so know a thing or two about everything from applying to enrolment. Tony completed 11yrs in the Royal Engineers and had tours of Northern Ireland, Norway, and Germany to name a few and Grant completed 15 years with 42 Commando Royal Marines serving all over the world including Norway, Belize, Northern Ireland and on numerous Royal Navy Ships. Both Tony and Grant say they would not hesitate to take this route again if given the opportunity. Come and have a chat with them to learn the top 3 reasons for following this career route. |

With 28 years’ experience in schools as a class teacher and headteacher, Claire will share her insights into the various support staff roles and what it takes to be a teaching assistant. She will also be joined by Charlotte who recently embarked on a teaching assistant role in a local primary school following her completion of the Level 2 Support Work in Schools qualification with Whitehead-Ross. Find out how Charlotte’s life has completely changed since her career move from hospitality into the world of schools! |
