Dear Colleague,
Please find below details regarding the next round of Dorset Council’s Community and Culture Project Fund round 3 which opened last week. The fund is aimed at ‘not for profit’ community groups and provides small grants to organisations wishing to secure funding to ‘kick start’ new activities that benefit the local community. The fund is focussed on supporting residents and those groups that are marginalised, disadvantaged or hard to reach.
Those applying for a grant will need to show how their project or event meets at least one of Dorset Council’s corporate priorities (see webpage for more details).
Applicants can apply for up to 80% of their total project costs and will be required to demonstrate how they will raise at least 20% of the costs themselves. Groups can apply for between £1,000 and £5,000 and the activity or event must take place in the Dorset Council area. Successful applications will need to be able to start delivering from August 2022.
Community groups that are newly established (formed within the last 12 months) are also eligible to apply for up to £1,500 provided they have as a minimum a constitution and a current bank account. It may also be necessary for them to provide evidence of appropriate insurance and a current safeguarding policy. All applications must be submitted via the councils online application form.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 27 June 2022. Awards will be confirmed around the 20th July 2022. Late applications will not be considered.
For more information including details of the funds priorities, application form questions, supporting documents, eligibility and how to complete the online application form visit the Dorset Council website.
If having read the guidance you are still unsure of whether or not you are eligible to apply please contact a member of the team on [email protected].
Finally, if you are a new or emerging community group and have a project but you’ve not applied for funding before help is available to support you with your application e.g. governance, policies. Details are contained on the webpage.
