BCP Council, in partnership with The Parks Foundation, is inviting people living and working around Mudeford Woods (including areas of Burton, Christchurch, Highcliffe, Mudeford, Purewell, Somerford, Stanpit, Walkford) and visitors to these areas to take part in a survey. This survey asks about your opinions of Mudeford Woods, the health benefits you feel you gain from using the area, as well as your thoughts on any enhancements you feel might be made to improve your visit.
We would appreciate you sharing and promoting this survey with the groups and the local community where you work. The results will help us shape plans and possible access enhancements throughout this area.
Mudeford Woods forms part of the Mude Valley Nature Reserve and despite its urban location, it is a haven and green corridor for many species of wildlife. It also is a recreational space, and forms important walking and cycling links with neighbouring areas, enabling hinterland and coastal connections. Access routes connect a community centre, primary and pre-schools, GP surgeries, dentists and provide access to a large high street supermarket, retailers in adjacent industrial sites, and to smaller retail traders.
This survey and access improvements are being funded through a sum of money awarded through PeopleScapes Research Group, University of Winchester. The information will help inform the ongoing management of Mudeford Woods, as well as potentially contribute to informing the management of other local greenspaces.
You do not have to use Mudeford Woods in order to complete the survey. Your views on why you do not use Mudeford Woods would also be useful to hear.
Please access the survey either through the QR code below or through the URL link provided. If you require a paper copy of the survey or if you have any queries please contact [email protected]
